DONALSONVILLE, Ga. (July 16, 2025) – Donalsonville Hospital proudly celebrated the official ribbon cutting of its new Surgery Center on Wednesday, July 16, marking a significant milestone in the hospital’s commitment to expanding access to high-quality healthcare for the residents of Seminole County and the surrounding region.
The celebration welcomed hospital leadership, board members, physicians, staff, community leaders, Georgia HEART contributors, and local residents who gathered to commemorate the completion of the state-of-the-art surgical facility.
The new Surgery Center features modern pre-operative and post-operative patient rooms, updated surgical spaces equipped with advanced technology, comfortable family waiting areas with complimentary refreshments, and amenities designed to enhance the patient experience from admission through recovery.
This project was made possible in large part through the generosity of donors participating in the Georgia HEART Hospital Program. The Georgia HEART program allows Georgia taxpayers to redirect a portion of their state income tax liability to qualified rural hospitals, providing critical funding that helps improve healthcare access, invest in new technology, and strengthen medical services in rural communities. These contributions enabled Donalsonville Hospital to make significant investments that will benefit patients for years to come.

The facility reflects Donalsonville Hospital’s ongoing commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality surgical care while allowing patients to receive treatment close to home without traveling long distances.
Prior to the ribbon cutting ceremony, guests were invited to tour the new facility, view the patient care areas, and learn more about the enhanced services now available through the Surgery Center.
